The IF Centre
The IF Centre is a new innovation and entrepreneurship facility located in Tecumseh, Ontario.
The IF Centre is located in a repurposed high school building. It is purpose-built to operate as a regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship hub, designed to bring the business community together with government, healthcare, education, researchers and the general public from across Southwest Ontario, to practice the skills of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The IF Centre is one part maker space, one part co-working space, one part demonstration centre, and one part conference centre. Covering over 100,000 square feet of space, it the largest facility of its kind in North America. It will offer a wide range of manufacturing equipment, computer equipment, food processing equipment and much more -- the kind of tools that will allow entrepreneurs to develop, test and prototype their ideas, and take them from concept to real-world products.
While The IF Centre welcomes entrepreneurs and innovators from all walks of life and in all sectors, it will focus on three core areas of product development - Advanced Manufacturing, Food Processing/Nutrition, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The IF Centre will feature metal and wood fabricating shops, two fully-equipped "wet labs", a computer and robotics centre, a 3D printing centre, a textiles centre, a video/multimedia centre, and a food processing centre. It also features large demonstration areas, a conference centre, a café, shared office space and meeting areas.
